Nutrition & Health Disclaimer
Pan & Plates nutritional information and macro plans are for general information and are not medical advice.
Pan & Plates helps you plan and batch-cook healthy meals efficiently. This disclaimer explains what our nutrition information is—and isn’t—so you can use it wisely. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
Not medical advice
Pan & Plates is a cooking and meal-planning tool. Our recipes, menus, macro plans, and videos are for general information and education only. They are not medical, dietary, or nutritional advice, and they aren’t a substitute for diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare professional. Pan & Plates does not create a provider–patient relationship with anyone.
How nutrition numbers are calculated
Calories, macronutrients, and other values are estimates calculated from USDA FoodData Central and manufacturer data, based on the ingredients and portions in each recipe. Actual values depend on the brands you buy, ingredient size and ripeness, substitutions, cooking method, and how you portion meals. Expect real-world values to vary by roughly 10–20% from what we display.
Macro plans and targets
Macro targets are generated from information you provide—such as height, weight, activity level, and goal—using standard estimation formulas. They are a starting point, not a prescription. Individual needs vary, and targets may not be appropriate for everyone. Adjust them with professional guidance, and stop and seek advice if you feel unwell.
Allergies and dietary filters
Allergy and dietary filters help you find suitable recipes, but they are not a guarantee that a meal is free from any allergen. Manufacturers change recipes and labels, products may be produced in facilities that handle allergens, and cross-contamination can occur in stores and kitchens. Always read ingredient labels on everything you buy. If you have a severe allergy, take the precautions your doctor recommends.
Food safety and storage
Batch cooking only works if it’s safe. Follow these general guidelines:
- Refrigerate cooked food within 2 hours of cooking.
- Eat refrigerated prepped meals within 4–5 days, or freeze them for longer storage.
- Reheat leftovers to an internal temperature of 74°C/165°F.
- When in doubt, throw it out.
Storage times are general guidance; your results depend on your refrigerator temperature, handling, and ingredients. You are responsible for safe food handling in your kitchen.
Results and time claims
Statements such as “members average 58 minutes” to prep five meals describe typical results, not guarantees. Your prep time depends on your experience, equipment, and kitchen. Likewise, any changes in weight, body composition, or fitness vary by person and depend on many factors beyond diet, including activity, sleep, and health.
Talk to a professional
Consult a physician or registered dietitian before making significant changes to your diet—especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have diabetes, kidney disease, or another medical condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating. If you have an eating disorder or are recovering from one, we recommend using Pan & Plates only with the support of your care team.
